Text not wraping to window

M

I have a few documents where the text does not wrap, either in Online
view or Normal view (I need to work in Normal view).

- Wrap to window is checked in the Preferences.
- Page setup is not in landscape mode.
- I've trashed and recreated the Normal template and the preferences,
but it changes nothing.
- I've tried pasting the text into a new document, but it makes no
difference.

I'm running out of ideas.

Thanks.

Hi René -

Where did the content originate? If it was copied from somewhere else it may
have controls embedded in it such as non-breaking spaces. Have you turned on
the ¶ (non-printing characters) to see if they can help make the
determination?

Pardon another "dumb question", but if the text doesn't *wrap* where does it
go?:)

Have you confirmed the page size isn't set to something larger than you
believe it to be?

What happens if you switch to Page Layout View or Print Preview?

If you didn't do it this way, select all but the last ¶, copy & paste into a
new blank doc.

I have tried this on PC now, I made a long paragraph with 3-6 words
separated by normal space. The lines were wrapped normally when I use
normal view, but as soon as I have click the web layout view they were
wrapped as longer than previously, but still they fitted in the window
Could that be related to your trouble?
Can you please be more specific about your problem?

From the "wild stab in the dark" department: Check that this is not text
that has been pasted in from the internet. If so, it may be full of
non-breaking spaces. If it is, they inhibit wrapping.

Easy way to find out: Do a Find/Replace of "space" for "space". It will
replace them with normal spaces.

Cheers

My excuses to all for not replying sooner.
As it turns out I found the solution: All I had to do was reset the
style from the drop down menu.
