Text over video background

I have been trying to get information on how to place text over a video
background. I read that PP does not come out of the box able to do that.
Could someone point me in the best direction? Are there any good sample
templates out there?
I am using PP 2003 and Windows XP (office).

Yes, you are correct, powerpoint passes over the job of playing movie clips
to windows media player.

Which plays the video on top of powerpoint.

There are some products that - by way of an add-in, allow the video to play
behind.
