Text printint off center

Larry

We are using Word 97, with windows 98. We are trying to
print on 5 x 7 cards and 6 x 9 envelopes with mail merge.
The layouts look fine in print preview and all the
settings are fine, yet both the envelopes and cards print
to the right, and not centered on the materials. It's an
HP LaserJet 5M, and we are using an envelope feeder.

The data does howver print fine on another printer, but
that printer is in use constantly.

We have recreated the documents, cut and pasted, etc., but
they still print to the right of center.

Any ideas

Thanks!

Hi Larry,

my initial thought is, there's a problem with the printer
driver on this particular machine. Try removing the printer,
re-installing the driver, then adding the printer back into
Windows? (If you need further help with this, the better
place to ask is the word.printingfonts group.)

Hi Cindy --

I've reinstalled the drivers as well, and also downloaded
any updates from HP. So that avenue has been tried. Other
word docs print fine on the printer.

I think I'll rebuild the templates tomorrow and see if
that helps.

Thanks for your advice!

Try starting from a new copy of Normal.dot (rename the one
you have to NormalOLD.dot, then restart Word), just in case
any problems are being inherited...
