Text prints OK, but shape (a grid) does not. Why?

I have a pair of documents, (termed Right and Left), consisting of a visio
shape (simple grid). I have run numerous variations on these standard
documents without problem.
Now, this revision of the Right documents prints flawlessly. The Left
document prints text only, and does NOT print the shape (simple grid). The
Format/Behavior/non-printing shape is not checked. The document has only one
layer.
What am I doing wrong?
