Text problems in imbedded .emf graphics

J

Jay McMullan

When printing documents from Word 2002 (Office XP) that
have imbedded .emf pictures, some picture text does not
print correctly.* The original picture was created is MS
Visio 2000. The printer is a Brother MFC 9700 interfaced
throught the parallel port; I think it is a Postscript
printer. The pictures preview correctly and print
correctly to an Epson printer. The Brother printer is
shared on a network, and if the Brother printer is used
over the network from another computer running MS Word
2000, the pictures print correctly.

This sounds somewhat like an old problem I read about with
Word 200, but haven't seen a fix for that either (other
than don't use Postscript printers.)

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks,
JCM

* The exact problem is that black text prints as "white",
i.e. it only shows up as a "negative" against a dark
background.
