Text stacked at left margin

We are using Word 2003

When using third-party software to convert a .doc file into a .tiff file, as
soon as the .tiff printer is selected all the text is stacked at the left
margin. We did not have this problem when we were using Word 2000.
According to web searches this happens with other third-party software, not
just the one we are using. Tech support from the third-party software we are
using indicated it is a glitch in Word 2003 (problem does not occur with Word
2000) and that it is a bug that Microsoft knows about. Will this be fixed
any time soon? Is there any work-around other than closing Word and logging
off? It would be great if Microsoft could incorporate a .tiff converter into
Word, then the third-party software would not be required.

Sorry no answer. But am curious why you're going to a .tif and not maybe a
..pdf?

We use a .tiff to put notes produced in Word onto AutoCAD drawings. A .tiff
file will automatically update the drawing file if changes are made to the
..doc file when it is re-saved as a .tiff. A .pdf will not do this.
