I am using the "text to columns" feature to copy data from an internet page
onto my spreadsheet. Specifically, I am copying 1)location, 2)latitude, and
3)longitude into column A as follows:
A B C D E
F G
NYC 52° 53' N 118° 4' W
52.88 118.07
All data is pasted into cell A1; then the text to columns feature allows me
to align the data into columns B,C,D,E,F, & G.
HERE IS THE DILEMMA: The "Text to Columns" step 1 wizard indicates
"FIXED WIDTH."
BUT, WHEN I USE THE FEATURE AGAIN, SOMEWHERE FURTHER DOWN THE PAGE, SUCH AS
CELL A235, THE "TEXT TO COLUMNS" FEATURE INDICATES "DELIMITED" INSTEAD OF
"FIXED WIDTH".
This causes problems.
I cannot figure out why the text to columns feature CHANGES from 'fixed
width' to 'delimited' when I use it again and again in my worksheet,
specifically, further DOWN the page??
Please explain.
