text up side down - possible?

L

Linea Recta

I have designed a card, consisting of an A4 paper, folded twice first
vertically and then horizontally.
So I have 4 'quarters'.
I have text in the lower left quarter and in the lower right quarter.
I have an image on the upper left quarter, and it is an image turned up side
down.
Everything works out OK so far and has the required orientation.

Now I wanted to put some text under the (up side down) image on the upper
left quarter. So the text has to be up side down too.
Couldn't find how to do this.
Is this possible in MSWord 2002?

Also it is unwise to use a sig with an email address in newsgroup postings
as they are trawled for spam targets.

Thanks for the link. I did the "Rotating a picture of your text" trick and
the result looked fine on the monitor.
But... I'm afraid the quality of the up-side-down text was deplorable when
it came out of the printer. :-((
NB I juste rotated the text. I haven't resized it in ant way.

You're absolutely right! I'd forgotten to delete it.

FWIW, if you have Publisher, it does this sort of folded card very well.

You can insert the text as WordArt, then drag a corner of the object to
effectively flip it upside down. E.g., drag the upper left corner diagonally
down and to the right until it passes the lower right corner... keep
dragging until it's the original size. It will now be upside down.

Right-click the object and choose Format WordArt. In the Layout tab, choose
something other than In line with text so you can drag it where desired.

I'm afraid the result is not what I need. If I do what you describe, I get
the text up side down, but mirrored. I do NOT want it mirrored.

Finally I succeeded getting good results, with the aid of PaintShop Pro 8.1

Dragging diagonally will indeed get you upside-down text. Dragging straight
down gets you mirrored text.

In any case, I'm glad you found an acceptable solution.

One of these days I'll get into the apparent different dragging tecniques in
word...

You can also use the Flip Horizontal/Vertical controls on the Draw menu,
which eliminates the possibility of distortion in dragging.
