Hi Kendra,
Are you saying that you are doing the following:
- File > Get External Data > Import
- Under files of type there's no option to choose "txt"
If that is so try re-registering the Text ISAM "mstext40.dll" as follows
- Close Microsoft Access
- Locate the file via Windows explorer "mstext40.dll"
- should be in the \windows or winnt \system32 folder
- Click Start > Run
- Type regsvr32 followed by a space
- Left click, drag, and drop the above file next to what you type in
the Run command line
- It should read now as
regsvr32 "full path to the file mstext40.dll"
- Click OK.... should receive message "...succeeded..."
- Click OK
- Reopen Microsoft Access and try again
