text wrap isn't working

W

WrongWay

When I place a picture in word the text wrapping doesn't work. If I choose
"in line w/text" it places the pic at the top of the page. If I choose
"square" it will wrap the text, but only if the pic is on the right or left
side of the page. If the pic is horizontally in the center of the page, text
won't wrap around it at all. The "tight" option doesn't work no matter where
the pic is on the page. Curiously, the "behind text" and "in front of text"
works just fine. Please someone tell me what is wrong. Thanks.

How large is the picture relatively to the margin width? I don't know if
it's still true, but in earlier versions of Word, there had to be some
minimum text width (I think it was half an inch) between the wrapped object
and the margin or Word wouldn't wrap text. Also check the "Distance from
text" setting on the Layout | Advanced tab of Format Picture.
