Text wrap issue

I use Word 97. I have experience problems recently on
graphics that I'm trying to place in text docs. I have
always selected the graphic, right clicked format
picture, and then selected Layout tab, and clicked on
Tight which allowed the text to surround the picture.

Recently, several times, the wrap options are grayed
out. If I select the tab that allows "float over text" I
suddenly gain my wrap options back, but then the picture
becomes 'invisible' to the printer. I see it on the
monitor, but in print preview and when it prints, it isnt
there.

Tools | Options | Print: check the box for "Drawing objects."

thanks for the suggestion, but forgot to mention, that
option is already checked. So I don't believe that is
the issue.
