Text Wrap row height

I have cells that have sentences in them and they're formatted with tex
wrap. Some of the cells do not automatically format to the prope
height (when I double-click on the row # on the left) and feature
line space (hard return) after the last sentence.
This is what it looks like.

"top of row"
sentence senten
ce sentence sen
tence sentence s
entence
"space"
"bottom of row"

The amount of text is not above the maximum allowed by Excel, and th
text inside the cell does not feature any spaces or hard returns at th
end. How can I make it look like:

"top of row"
sentence senten
ce sentence sen
tence sentence s
entence
"bottom of row"

Thanks,

Jo

Try:

Select the cells

Click Edit > Replace

Under "Find what:"
Hold down Alt key and type 010 on the numeric keyboard

Leave "Replace with:" empty

Click Replace All

I tried the Alt 010 thing and it tells me that it can't find matching
data to replace.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I tried the 0010 and the same thing happens. It can't find any matchin
data.

Any other ideas

Afraid not. The steps should work
in removing the "hard returns", i.e
the in-cell line breaks (Alt + Enter).

I just tried it out again by copy > pasting
the sample direct from your original post as-is
into a couple of cells
(with the "space" simulated)

I was able to remove the "space" at the bottom
of the cells by:

selecting all the cells,
pressing either: Alt + 010 [or Alt + 0010]
*after* placing the cursor inside the "Find what:" box,
leaving the "Replace with:" box empty
and clicking "Replace All" button

The numbers "010" or "0010" were keyed-in
using the *numeric* keyboard
(the one just to the right of the arrow keys)
while holding down Alt key

Are you quite certain you did it the same way ?

Sorry, let me try to explain this better.
The "space" in my example isn't a hard return. There are no har
returns in the cell. When I double-click on the row # on the left, th
cell height doesn't automatically fit to:
"top of row"
sentence senten
ce sentence sen
tence sentence s
entence
"bottom of row"

It formats to:
"top of row"
sentence senten
ce sentence sen
tence sentence s
entence
"space"
"bottom of row"

I can manually move the bottom of the cell up so that the space i
covered up, but it would take a long time to do for many cells. Thi
problem doesn't occur with all of the cells, only some of them for som
strange reason?

Thanks for your hel

Ok, thanks. Was barking up the wrong tree, then.

Looks like autofit doesn't always work as expected,
and there may not be a cure, too, going by this previous post

I don't have any other suggestions, sorry.
