text wraps strangely in presenter tools view

I'm running PPT2004 on macOS10.4.6 on a g4 titanium powerbook, and my second
monitor is a Dell lcd projector.
A regular slideshow shows up fine, but When I choose view presenter tools,
the text on the slide wraps around the screen and shows up in the worng place
(ie: the stuff that should be on the top shows up on the bottom, or left-on
the right etc...). Any I deas?
