How do you add the task name or text, other than the field
text, to the bar on the Gantt Chart?

Hi 
Right click on the task bar you wish... Format bar/bar
text. There you can insert field and placing of your
choice.
If you wish to do this for the entire project, then choose
the Ganttchartwizard.. Next/next.. if the choice you want
isnt displayed then click custom. The only thing is that
you will have to customise from there onwards.

Bar styles allows you to show text of any field (Name or an other one)
You cnanoy-t show text which is not in any field
But you can use a formula to set the text you want to show in a field first
and then show that field through Bar Styles.
