Textbook for Access 2007

Elmar

I'm looking for a textbook which teaches the specifics of Access 2007.
I got a basic understanding of database design and normalisation. I
have worked with a different product in the past. I thought I bought a
useful book about Access 2007 but it has better use as an expensive
door stopper.

What doe you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Without any doubt:

Microsoft® Office Access 2007 Inside Out by John Viescas and Jeff Conrad

Our community college uses:
Microsoft Office Access 2007, published by Thomson, authors: Joseph Ademski,
Kathleen Finnegan

This is oriented to new users and so it is teaching database concepts as
well as the 07 interfaces and steps thru making tables, making forms, making
reports, command buttons, etx....

I might point out that college textbooks are notoriously over-priced. This
particular one has less than half of the number of pages and costs almost 3
times as much as the Viescas/Conrad book at Amazon.com.

I'm not sure who Ademski and Finnegan are, but John Viescas is one of the 2
longest continually awarded Microsoft MVPs and has written many books on
Access. Jeff Conrad was an Access MVP before he was hired by Microsoft to be
a part of the Access development team. Both are stellar experts on Access. I
know them both personally and professionally and recommend their book
highly.
