I've been using Textsoap for several years, with no problem. Mostly
I've been using it to format line wraps and case conversion on the fly
in composing my plain-text email messages. Textsoap features can be
accessed from a right-click contextual menu.
Recently I switched to Entourage from Mail.app. Now the Textsoap
contextual menu randomly disappears and reappears.
That is, I'll right-click and sometimes the Textsoap menu is there,
and sometimes it isn't.
Restarting my computer solves the problem temporarily, but eventually
the Textsoap contextual menu disappears again. The Entourage
contextual menu remains intact.
I have not been able to pinpoint the cause. I reported this problem to
the author of Textsoap, and he is puzzled. He chalks it up to some
weirdness in Microsoft programs.
BTW Textsoap is still consistently available in other programs,
including MS Word 2005.
My current workaround for email is to compose email messages in
TextEdit and use the Textsoap features there, then copy and paste to
my Entourage email window.
Any idea what's going on with the random appearance/disappearance of
the Textsoap contextual menu? Is there something I can tweak in
applescript to make it stay put?
