Bob,

I thought this was as good a forum as ever to thank you for the
SUMPRODUCT article in xldynamic. It has to be one of the single most
informative articles I've read on Excel, and has really opened my eyes
to the possibilities of SUMPRODUCT.

I printed it & pored over it for the last few bus journeys to work.

Hi Jason,

Thank you very much for those kind words, and I am glad you enjoyed the
article. I am in the process of re-writing it, splitting it into 3 sections,
an explanation along the lines of what I have now, the second being more
tutorial on how to develop solutions using SP, and the third section being
the examples, a little better laid out I hope. My target date for that is
mid September, so please check back on it, I hope it will get even better.

Consider including examples of counting/summing across multiple worksheets:

=SUMPRODUCT(SUMIF(...........
=SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF(...........

Hi Bob,

I've always used array formulae because Excel help on SP is rubbish.
However, since discovering the newsgroups last November I have come to
realise that SP formulae are a simpler alternative (and faster to
calculate), and your articles have explained them much more clearly.
Can't wait for the update in September!

Keep up the good work - you might like to include some timing
comparisons.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. 3D summing is definitely something that
needs to be added, and I have a whole paper on timings, so I will definitely
include that.

reference bible'. (A motley collection of printouts, scribblings &

By the way Bob, I wasn't sure if you knew that the site can't be read by
'Safari' - the Apple Mac browser.

I was aware, someone else has pointed it out to me, but as I have neither a
Mac nor Safari, I have no way of testing it. I am reliant on someone who
understands HTML etc. and who does have those tools to tell me how to change
it. I use a lot of JavaScript, could that be the problem?
