Ö÷Ìâ: Thanks, how do I define "static routs?" Also, I'm not
tied to the internet... this is two wireless networks in
my home. One IP address is assigned to one NIC that
connects to a wireless router, and the second connects to
a second wireless access point, that has its own IP
address. I cannot access both from the same computer
without disableing one of the NICs or resetting the
priority... a setting which does not seem to take place
unless I reboot XP Pro.

Appriciate the help.
Thanks,
Bob

I'm sorry, but what you want isn't possible, because:

1. The setting that you made doesn't affect Internet access.

2. When there are two or more connections to the Internet, the system
will only use one of them. It determines which one to use by looking
at the value of the "metric" associated with the network connection
and using the one with the lower metric. Failure to find a web page
on the first connection doesn't make it try the second one.

If you know that web pages with a specific range of IP addresses
should use one connection or the other, you can define static routes
that specify which connection to use.

I have a four station XP network using a Netgear Wireless router. 3
machines are wired to it; one is wireless connection.

All four machines get their settings properly via DHCP.
All four machines can get to internet.
All four machines can be pinged by address from station 1 BUT on stations 2,
3 and 4 they can only see each other but NOT station 1. I've looked at all
of the settings on station 1 that I can think of but it all looks the same
as the other stations to me. What would prevent other connections from
being able to ping it?

The only difference I see is that on station 1 there is a second connection
called "Wan Network Driver" but I even disabled that and it didn't do any
good.
