I've finally finished with the program booklet for ballet company - 3 months
of "design by committee" of noobishes!

The proofs look great in spite of what the printer thought Publisher was
going to produce, once he got his printer set correctly I think he was
impressed as well.

Just wanted to thank you guys for all your help...and anyone else I may have
skipped, sorry my brain is fried after working almost 20 hours straight on
last minute client changes/annoyances.

I don't think I will be "volunteering" for this again next year.

BTW...you can go back and forth between reader spread & printer spread, but
it can get tricky because you lose margins and stuff...but it workd.

THANKS AGAIN...everyone. Beer is on me.

Design by committee is the worst form of design. I've experienced it myself.

I get the impression that a lot of snobbishness of printers towards
Publisher is caused by unfair comparisons. They compare what they see
brought in made in Publisher by Joe Public who can barely move a mouse
to what is created by professional designers with top-notch
qualifications, and blame the program. Although I suppose looking at
empirical statistics, you'd guess that the average Publisher user and
the average InDesign user are worlds apart, so statistically the printer
would be semi-justified in making the assumption based on program. But
switching to InDesign does not instantly make a fantastic document.

And congratulations on finishing your document!
