the calendar defaults to 'today' when I check mail

When in a calendar it's often necessary to look at another file but on going
back to the calendar it has returned to 'Today'. How do I stop it doing that?
Often, when working on a calendar item, it would be nice to be able to go
from one file to another and have the calendar stay on the same date.

you'll need to open it in a separate window if you don't want to return to
today - right click on the calendar folder and choose open in new window.
