The "|" char when exporting

Torie

Hi people,

I am having problems exporting data from an MS Access 2002
database to text (txt) and excel (xls) file formats.
Exporting the data to either of these formats is fine
except scattered all over the exported file are these "|"
pipe characters. I would like to know if the is a way to
prevent this funny character and would like to know why
this is happening?

Thanks!

I would forgot to mention, the "|" is replacing other
characters in my export file, it is not being used as a
separator. It's very annoying since I am exporting
addresses and part of the address is missing because
the "|" replaces a character in where a letter or number
should be.

We have no idea what type of data you're exporting. We have no idea how
you're doing the exports. We have no idea whether you're exporting tables or
queries. We have no idea what the structure of the table and/or query is.

In short, we request more info....! < g >

Hi Torie,

First, make sure you're not checking "Save formatted" when you export
the data. If that doesn't fix it, then - as Ken says - you need to
provide more information, including the versions of Access and Windows,
and the language(s) or scripts you're using.
