"The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open"???

When opening a Word document: Error message "The command cannot be performed
because a dialog box is open. Click OK, and then close open dialog boxes to
continue." What does that mean?

It probably means that you are using Norton Anti Virus?

In which case, open Norton and under Advanced Options, deselect the

It often means just what it says. Surprise.

The dialog box can be behind other windows so you cannot see it.

Minimise anything on the screen until you can see the dialog box in
question and do what ever it requires.
