The current cell in Excel is highlighted inBlue and is barely visible

The current working cell in Excel is barely visible as it is highlighted in light blue unlike in Windows where it is in Black and is Bold. It becomes very difficult and I need to see the Column and the Row address highlighted to know where the cursor is. Is there a way to change this and make the cell visible by say totally highlighting it with specific colour?

Yes. The chosen colour comes from your operating system colours.
Change this in the "Appearance" Preference Pane. You'll have to
relaunch Excel to see the change. This will affect all "highlight"
colours, so don't pick black if you use, say, Word or Text Edit.

Hi Phil,

I tried your suggestion. This works swell when you hold shift and choose any array of cells or any item whichever is picked. My problem is when nothing is chosen. Whenever I open any workbook, it takes a while just to see which cell is current (like where the cursor is). The picture below may be of help

Cell C7 can be know easily only because the above column and row number is highlighted and not the cell.
Hope you can get my problem.

Regards,

Anand.

Excel picks up the highlight color from the system preferences in the
appearance panel. Change this color to one with more contrast and then quit
and restart Excel.
