The Cursor in word is gone

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I was typing along, when the cursor went away. Instead of blinking and telling me where I am, it is just gone. I searched Help, and the internet and there do not seem to be any solutions. Can you help?

Hi Katie:

This is one of the stupid tricks that Spaces can play.

Try closing and re-opening Word.

If the cursor comes back, try stopping Spaces.
