Please help, I get the following error message when I try to change the
design of a report that I created: I am the only one using the database.
The database has been placed in a state by user <name> on machine <name>
that prevents it from being opened or locked. (Error 3734)
This error occurs when the new passive shutdown/connection control is being
used. This error message indicates that a user set the database in a mode
that will prevent other users from opening it.
I am using Office 2003 SP1, the database was created in 2000 then upgraded.
I get the error message appear when I am the only person using the database
and the error report tells me that I am the user that has locked the database
on my machine. I am opening a simple report that calls a simple query. I am
able to open the report in design view but when I try to save it or change
controls on the report the message appears. I have menu bars hidden from the
users.
This is getting very frustrating as I can't amend databases that I have
created.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
