The Database is over 4 M in size see is missing over 400 records

I have an old 2003 file that is over 4+ M in size. When it is opened in 2007
we can see only 10 records (there should be 500+.) After converting to a
2007 format it is a little over 1 M in size and we can still see the same 10
records.

Can someone tell be where the 3+ M of information has gone?

Thanks

Did you ever Compact and Repair the old 2003 file in the past?
When you add to a database it increases in size. But it does not decrease
when you delete data and objects.
When you did the conversion it automatically did a Compact and Repair.

4 megabytes is TINY. A database would have to be five hundred times that size
(2,000 MBytes) to exceed the size limits.

As noted elsethread, it probably just needed to be compacted. Databases
allocate space in 256KByte chunks, and have a good bit of overhead even if
there is NO table data.
