"The disk is full or too many files are open."

Users here cannot save to network shares in a standard MS
Office format. Only happens in Office Applications. The
error messages are: Excel = "Disk is full."
(then) "Document not saved.", Word = "The disk is full
or too many files are open.".

The network is a W2K Active Directory network (all
servers updated to SP3+) with the shares organized via
DFS roots w/1 Win-2003 member server. All client
machines are running W2K or WIN-XP with Office2K and XP.
The servers range 1Ghz/.5GB RAM boxes up to 2.4GHz/1GB
Ram boxes. Symantec Corporate Anti-Virus & Veritas
BkupExec 9.0 are installed @ the server level.

The Word or Excel Files can be saved locally & then
copied to the Network Share & no error results. The Word
file can also be saved as a .txt & no error results.

Very Frustrating.

Thanks in advance,

Pat Cameron

I have just done the same with W2k 5 Server. I have not had a problem
with any of the shares until my last one. I am having the same problem
only on the last server. I am running Symantec Corporate Anti-Virus &
Veritas
BkupExec 9.0.
Have you found a solution?
