The Document Name or Path Is Not Valid ERROR MESSAGE

I get the following dreaded message when I tried opening
one of my files.

The document name or path is not valid. Try these
suggestions.
Check the file permissions for the document or drive.
Use the File Open dialog box to locate the document.
C:\...\file path\file name

I really need to get this fixed. Anyone have the hotfix?
Microsoft said it has one, but it's not posted online for
the public.

I found a program called DOCREPAIR by Jufsoft, but that's
a demo version, and the full version costs a lot, and i
only need it for now.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The file is on the hard disk and i'm using Microsoft Word
2000.
