The document name or path is not valid

I have read about 6000 posts on this and my conclusion is that there is a
core group of people that have STILL not been told what is going on.

My enviroment:

Windows XP Professional SP1
Microsoft Word 2002 SP3
Novell 4.83 SP2
McAffee Virus Scan Enterprise 7.0

When a user attempts to access a file that she JUST worked on, she gets the
error "The document name or path is not valid" error.

It does not matter how she attempts to open the document. Via Explorer or
from within Word.

I have tried to repair and tried safemode, neither works.

We are running McAfee antivirus,so the Norton fix does not apply.

It does not matter where she saves the file.

This issue was reproducible AFTER before and after installing SP3.

HELP!!!

If some version of Symantec/Norton Antivirus was ever installed on your
computer, then it's possible that the Norton Office Plugin is still
registered in Windows, even if you uninstalled Norton. Search for the
OFFICEAV.DLL file on your system (include hidden and system files/folders).
This is the .dll for the Norton Office Plugin. If you find it, note the
directory path where it is located. Close all open applications. From
Windows, click on Start | Run. In the Open dialog box, type the command
(including quotes):

Regsvr32 -U "C:\<path>\OfficeAV.dll"

Replace <path> with the directory path for your OfficeAV.dll file. Click on
OK. You only have to run this command once (not every time you restart your
computer). You should get the message: "DllUnregisterServer in
C:\<path>\OfficeAV.dll succeeded."
