"The document name or path is not valid.

I have a large doc (file-size 30 MB). When opening in
Word 2000, i am getting a prompt --> "The document name
or path is not valid. Try these suggestions:
* Check the file permissions for the document or drive.
* Use the File Open dialog box to locate the document.
(path\file name).
and the file does not open.

I have tried following -->
1) Trying to open file using FILE > OPEN; navigating to
location.

2) Double-clicking the file icon.

3) With wordpad it opened fine; however the the file-size
and formatting was missing.

Please HELP
