The ( ", ' ) doesn't work with Word.

Hi, I have a macbook and Microsoft Word on it. Suddenly not long ago
the key that's just before the "enter" key doesn't work. The key I'm
talking about is the " and ' key and as you can see is not a keyboard
issue. It works in everything else but in Word. If someone knows how
to fix it I'd be more than grateful.

This is a wild guess.
Try another font. Times New Roman that came with Word 2004 should work.
You might have a non-unicode version of your current font.

In a similar vein. Uncheck "straight quotes with smart quotes" in Tools
È Autocorrect È Autoformat as you type È Replace as you type.

Finally, an even wilder guess, make sure your keyboard matches the
language you are using in Mac's system preferences. (international)
mebbe that's not so wild, since there is a keyboard shortcut for
changing the keyboard language you might have hit by mistake.
