The excel is loaded, but the file does not open.

Hi
It would like that they helped me with a problem that is occurring in the
Excel.
When I go in Explorer and click in a file xls, the excel is loaded, but the
file does not open.
But I go in the excel and click in the icon open, the file usually opens.
Does anybody have an idea of how to do it solve this problem?
I use the Windows XP and Office 2000.

I had that problem after installing Office's Updates.

Tools / Options / General / Untick 'Ignore Other applications'
