The expected version ....

I am running Office 2003 Professional edition and have tried various updates
on this new computer and keep getting the message that the expected version
is not found - I have tried it from within word, etc and by going directly
to the MS site and keep getting the same error message - any suggestions?

Does your Office Installation have a service pack installed? Open Word
(or any other Office App), click on Help -- About ... if it has a
service pack, the version will say SP1 or SP2 -- all of the new updates
that microsoft has released for Office 2003 require either SP1 or SP2.
You can go directly to the office update site
http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/ and it will detect your
service pack version and tell you if you have prerequisites for
installing other updates.

Thank you so much! That worked like a charm - I got so bleary eyed
installing the programs on the new computer I was convinced I had SP 2 for
Office and never even noticed the little update box at the top of the page -
