The Folder is Full

T

Thom Little

When I "Empty Deleted Items" a dialog appears saying "The folder is full.".

My .PST file is 1.9 GB and my attempt to archive older information from it
fails.

How do I clear the error?

Your pst is too large. Go into Deleted items, select items and then press
shift+del to delete them. Depending on how many are in the folder, you may
be able to archive once you do that. Otherwise, you'll need to shift+del
other messages - I'd start by searching for large messages.

See http://www.slipstick.com/problems/repair2gbpst.asp for more information.

It was apparently "damaged " and I could not do it.

I then restored from a backup that was three days old. I got the "The
folder is full" dialog when attempting an "Empty 'Deleted Items' Folder".

I deleted all the files in Delete Items by highlighting them all and using
the delete option.

I archived old data and compacted the remaining file. The Archive is 496M
and the remaining file is 742M.

I reloaded the system and it still gives the "The folder is full" error when
I attempt an "Empty 'Delete Items' folder".

You get that error on the now 764 meg file? How many items are in the
deleted items folder?

Yes.

When the request is made another dialog flashes on the screen too fast to
see and then the error dialog appears.
