I have an SBS Server and last year I began experiencing problems saving
Office files to our public folders (shared drive M![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Specifically, when trying to save a newly created Office document
(.doc, .xls, etc...) a box appears stating "The handle is invalid."
To get around this I have to save it to either
a. My Documents, then move the file to drive M:, or
b. cut and paste an existing similar document in the folder, rename it
to the desired new file name, then saving the actual file will ask if I
want to overwrite the existing file and then Office saves the document
with no problems.
Obviously, the additional steps is a burden --especially when you have
to stop working to search for a similar document when beginning a new
(blank) client folder.
Assuming the problem was my own fault, I've been living with it for the
past year, but last month I created a new SBS server on a new machine
and this morning I discovered it is giving me the same "The handle is
invalid." message for new files saved to its M: drive.
-----------------------------------------------------
None of my other programs (Adobe, Frontpage, Omniform, etc..)
experience this problem. I also cannot find any evidence on the web
that anyone is experiencing a similar problem.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.......
Other programs (adobe, omniform, faxtalk)
