The horizontal scrollbar will not go away

I have had this problem once before, and I believe it was fixed by creating a
macro and running it once, but I can not recall where I found this
information.

The horizontal scrollbar in word will absolutely NOT go away no matter what
I do. I mean, I can uncheck the box for it, but I do want it to show up when
something is too wide. However, it currently is on the screen all the time,
in every layout except for reading layout, no matter how wide the page is.

That's the way Word works. The scroll bar is either displayed or not; it's
not contextual or conditional.
