the installation source for this product is not available

When I try to sync my "IPAQ RZ 1715" I get an error message that says
"Microsoft Outlook is no longer installed so active sync cannot continue to
run..reinstall Outlook". Outlook (2003) IS INSTALLED. I use it everyday. For
grins and giggles I put the "Office 2003" in the cd-rom and get another
error..."the installation source for this product is not available.Verify
that the source exists and that you can access it". There are no choices from
this point onward. All the installation file does is close. How do I verify
it exists beyond using it all the time?

Now I am really confused. I get this same error when I try to "detect &
repair" within Outlook "help".

Sounds like there is something wrong with your installation. Instead of a
repair try a reinstall instead.

NO - I just posted this under OFFICE SETUP
If I try to "Remove or Change' Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003
from Add or Remove Programs I get the dialog box Add or Remove Programs ! The
installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the
source exists and that you can access it.

I see the source directory and I can access it.

If I run Word 2003 I get the message Microsoft Office Word 11.0 i The
windows installer dialog appears and then I get this error message. An error
occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Please run
Setup and Select "Repair....." to restore this application.

If I run Help Repair... I get the same messages.

If I try to reinstall the product from the CD it ask for the registration
numbers. However, I have a multi-license CD from my University and it never
asked me this before.
