the load of templates in office xp

When a user goes to use templates in powerpoint or any office application.
it takes serveral mins before they all load on the screen. This is the only
application where the problem happens. Is there a fix?

Hi, This is Johnbes from Microsoft. It’s possible you may have your User
and Workgroup template locations set to directories that contain many files.
To determine your template directory paths, launch Word and bring up the
Tools-Options dialog. Click on the File Locations tab and you'll see entries
for the User Template path and the Workgroup Template path. (By default the
Workgroup Template path is not set, so it may be blank.)

File new recurses through all files and folders in both of these template
directories. If there are a substantial number of files, it may take a
noticeable amount of time to recurse through the entire directory structure.

Do me a favor and browse to these template directories using the Windows
Explorer and get property information on the total number of files contained
in the template directories. (Right click on the top level User and
Workgroup template directories and choose properties from the context menu to
get a quick count of files.)
