"The macro could not be created"

I tried to use the macro recorder, but got the error message "The macro
could not be created". I can go into the VBE and create a new module and
write new code. My New Macros module has headers with no code for the times
I tried to use the recorder.

Any ideas what might be happening? Have I reached my lifetime limit of
macros or something?

It's not a lifetime thing, try renaming normal.dot.
