THE MAIL IN OUTLOOK WON'T SEND MESSAGES....RECIEVES BUT NOT SEND

i'm having alot of trouble sending i can recieve...i'm on sbcglobal.net and
previously used yahoo mail....and i'd like to use the outlook for all mail
have set the pop3 and smtp to be correct....why can't i send? help
