I've several of the posts pertaining to this and have tried the suggestions
posted but to none avail.
I have a database from Access 2000 that uses linked tables to a SQLServer
2000 machine. The Access file sits in a shared folder on the same machine as
the SQL. Most of the clients are able to use the Access application to
generate report previews. However, one group of clients can open the forms,
select the parameters of the queries and try to generate the report but no
report preview shows up. Just an hour glass for a second and then nothing.
The Access app stays open and there is no problem with clicking the "Generate
Report" button a second time, but the issue remains: only a momentary
hourglass and then nothing.
I have verified that they are using Access2003 sp3, same as all the other
clients. I've even gone so far as to connect to their printer and set it as
my default and yet I can still generate the report preview. They can't.
Anything else that could be causing this? Again, this is a single Access
file that is shared by many. No one else has problems with sharing
violations or messages of that sort.
