Hello fellow OneNoters - this is Mike from the OneNote team. I just replied
to a previous "Won't Fix" post about our Connect site and thought it would
be useful to touch base with everyone and repost some thoughts from that
message.
We really appreciate the time and effort that everyone takes to post bugs
and suggestions to our Connect site. We value all feedback and we regularly
look at it. In fact, we fixed a big pile of bugs for the final version of
OneNote that we couldn't have found without the help of you, our customers,
including some nasty corruption issues.
Recently, we've been going through the backlog of "crusty" bugs entered from
Beta2 and B2TR that we could either not reproduce or we think are now fixed.
Since we are a very small team, the easiest way to get caught up is to
resolve most of the 3-6 month old bugs logged in older Beta builds. This
big cleanup process that we just completed should be a one-time thing. Once
everyone is on the RTM build (out January 30th), all new bugs will get
closely looked at.
In addition, we are actively culling all suggestions from the last year and
it is going into our planning process for the next version of OneNote. As
usual, the team doesn't promise to fix every bug or suggestion that is
reported, nor give individual replies to every person. But we do promise to
look at every issue that comes in. Within the next few weeks we'll be
posting a customer survey at http://connect.microsoft.com/onenote which will
help us gather feedback as we plan the next version of OneNote.
And I just want to reiterate that we are HUGELY appreciative of the time and
effort everyone gives to help make OneNote a better product, whether it's
through this Discussion group or the Connect site.
