First off let me say this, Thank you, again being new at this I did not
realize what is going, thank you for helping me understand the proto
calls.
I made an error in reporting the problem, when I went to check the
print
driver; I found the laptop is running Vista, not XP. The desk top is
running
XP pro. The printers I’m using are on our network, but now I know they
are
not the same.
My goal is to share the presentation with several folks, is there a way
to
group the arrows and the words that describe the objects that would
make
them
independent of these other factors?
Moe
:
Make sure you have a Windows-certified local printer driver installed
and
set as the default printer. This sounds weird, I know, but it often
helps
with odd display problems.
To do so, follow the instructions here and use the same printer driver
that's used in this FAQ: How to install a local printer driver
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00605.htm
That said, I also asked a question about Replace Fonts. You have
repeated
the same information in three response posts, but you've not addressed
that
question. Here is my question again:
if you look at Replace Fonts, do you have a question mark beside any
of
them? Replace Fonts is on the Format menu in PPT 97-2003 and on the
Home
tab
on the far right in PPT 2007.
However, now knowing that you are using PPT 2007 leads me to think
that
the
printer driver is the more likely fix for your issue. I would try that
first. If it works, then you can ignore my question about Replace
Fonts.
As an aside, these discussion forums are public groups, manned by
volunteers
like me and the community of readers at large. You can often get your
problems resolved here. But posting a reply here, like I did, is not
an
invitation for you to email your issue to me. I don't mean to sound
harsh,
but I volunteer my time here so that all may benefit from the
exchange --
I
don't do free one-on-one technical support.
Sometimes someone will request that you email them for some reason or
another. I've often asked users to email a file to me because I've
judged
that I need to see the file for some reason. (Then I report back to
the
newsgroup with my findings.) But that's different than receiving an
unsolicited email out of the blue with a file attachment from someone
I've
never heard of, you know?
You mentioned you were new to this forum, so I thought this
information
might benefit you. Going off in a panic -- not answering questions
posed
to
you in response to your question and emailing files willy-nilly to
responders -- is not likely to get you a fix to your problem. Again,
I'm
sorry if I sound harsh -- but I'm trying to help you understand the
reality
of the situation.

I tried emailing you, this is my first time using this forum. The
problem
is
the power point presentation changes between computers that use the
excat
same software (XP windows pro, 2007 power point), the arrows in the
presentation misalign themselves, any ideas?
:
You cannot attach files through the web discussion forum. If you
feel
that
you cannot describe the problem, the you can upload a picture to
flickr
or
other file sharing site.

Both computers are running windows XP and power point in office
2007?
One
of
the computers is a laptop and the other is a desktop. I've
attached
the
presentation for your review. The problem is the arrows do not
line
up
on
both computers on the 4th or 5th page. Thank you for your help.

In addtion to Geetesh's questions/suggestions, if you look at
Replace
Fonts,
do you have a question mark beside any of them? Replace Fonts is
on
the
Format menu in PPT 97-2003 and on the Home tab on the far right
in
PPT
2007.
