Micheal

Hi,

if we are working with the manage period option.but if we need to open
"OVERWRITE ACTUAL WORK OPTION" in the dialog box of repulish assignments .it
is a disable. if we want to use this option . we need to select the
unmanaged period option . and then republish the project but i see after
select unmanaged period and republish the project again with the "overwrite
actual work"option disturb the all hours in the project and distribute those
hours over the different days in decimal and remove some actual work of
resources.

please tell me what is the problem behind this .
and what is the difference between managed period and unmanaged period . and
why the effect behind this.
regards

Micheal --

If you are using the Managed Time Periods functionality, the system forces
all actuals to be entered in the PWA timesheet page for every task except
milestones. You cannot manually enter actuals in the Microsoft Project plan
and "push" those actuals to the user's PWA timesheet using Collaborate -
Publish - Republish Assignments and selecting the "Overwrite actual work
entered by resources" option. If this presents a major problem to your
organization, then perhaps the Managed Time Periods feature is not for you.
Hope this helps.
