The Real Web Wizard | Web Guru
First of all, a Web Guru is an accolade bestowed upon a person in the
Internet Sphere who actually understands how to combine Internet
technology with fast loading, easy to navigate, web design.
The Web Guru is none other than the world famous individual known as
'The Butterfly Guy'. We are not talking about some funky imitation as
displayed by MSN in their use of the butterfly guy caricature, but
rather Hans Schnauber, one of the worlds most notorious web gurus.
In the late nineties, while building the webs first porn-free and
hate-free search engine the Web Guru was distributing tens of
thousands of live butterflies to children for release while
distributing tens of millions of seed packets free of charge to help
in the nations awareness of butterfly habitat restoration.
The Web Guru became famous for starting a one-man butterfly campaign,
both on and off-line, that saw millions of people around the world
behold the power of the butterfly and turned the little creature into
a modern day fad, with ad agencies around the world showing pictures
of butterflies.
In 1997, while battling executives at Time Warner, The Butterfly Guy [
The Real Web Wizard ] also helped create the domain name fad while
demonstrating the Terapeta effect in building the webs first global
network uniting over 2000 domains.
According to The Wall Street Journal; "Mr. Schnauber is very cunning"
as he bypassed the knowledge of the largest companies in the world,
including American Express, Microsoft, and Time Warner, redirecting
traffic from those sites in 1997 and displaying his face with a short
statement that said; "Just trying to make the world a better place -
save the butterflies."
When asked about these endeavors, Mr. Schnauber simply states; "Most
corporate web gurus [ IT guys ] and lawyers representing the firms got
a good laugh when they found out what I was doing."
He further states; "The companies that were arrogant at the time tried
to portray me as some kind of idiot. Time Warner even had one of their
reporters interview me for a few hours, acting as an unbiased
journalist, when in reality he was paid by Time Warner. The article
appeared in one of their now defunct media outlets. What I learned
from that experience is that Time Warner does not portray the truth
when it is in their best interest to lie and deceive the public."
The Web Guru made the comment that it was better to make a statement
than to manipulate their data and crash the stock market. He stated,
"The media uproar at the time was the week Microsoft was pegged with a
massive lawsuit from the federal government. Online we were equal in
media coverage and I think the stunt was well worth the publicity."
When asked about business on the Internet all he would say is;
"Leadership at both Arthur Anderson and MCI Worldcom had absolutely no
clue. Their so-called experts [ wannabe web gurus ] said the nations
business community wouldn't pay for ranking sites [ boy were they
wrong ], when what they were really trying to do was steal the
information. The funny thing about that both these companies crashed
and burned and I still have the knowledge."
But isn't Vint Cerf, co-founder of the modern day Internet part of
MCI? Mr. Schnauber states, "Yes this is true, but even he didn't
understand the value of what I created at the time. I respected both
he and John Postel for their great service to the human mind. However,
I believe the Internet has grown way beyond the creative process of
Vint Cerf. He proved this when negotiating for MCI and his present
leadership of ICANN."
Even the United States government became involved with the Web Guru
when the United States Postal Service unsuccessfully challenged him at
the search engine positioning game and spent nearly two million
dollars trying to conquer 'The Butterfly Guy'.
Hans was born in Portland Oregon at the Oregon Health and Science
University, child research division. He attended Oregon Polytechnic
Institute, and served in the U.S. Army. He is the undisputed world
leader in standards compliant web technology - directing his efforts
in helping the quality sites reach their full potential, utilizing his
proprietary method of site indexing.
After completing his thesis on 'The Asclepias Genus', which has been
distributed throughout the research community, he demonstrated his
insights into the unseen part of the natural world showing the sphere
within the inside of a chysalis at Duke University in 1998, where an
international scientific discovery has been named "Hans' Circle".
Mr. Schnauber is also author of the Internet Declaration of
Independence which was used to help relinquish administrative control
of the Internet by the U.S. government.
Mr. Schnauber is currently involved with helping i164 catalog the web,
directing attention to commercial, education, and government sites.
