the "Screen Saver" shortcut seems to be missing from Office 2003

There used to be a "Screen Saver" shortcut in eariler versions of Office; I
don't see this in Office 2003. It looked like a window shade that was pulled
half down.

Is it in 2003? If so, How do I load it?

Thanks,
Ed

Use Windows Search and search for *.scr files. Once you find the one
you want, right-click it and select Send to/Desktop as Shortcut. Then
move the shortcut to where ever you want it located.

It's not bundled in, but you can create one. First you need to locate the
file osa.exe, which is part of Office 2003. On my system, it's in
D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11. Now create a shortcut
pointing to that file and add the -s option. The Target field of the
shortcut's properties should look something like this:

"D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OSA.EXE" -s

You can name the shortcut anything you like and put it anywhere that's
convenient. Double-clicking on it will start the current screen saver.

Thank You!

This was so simple. I'll miss the window and it's half drawn shade, but I
have my one-click-drop into the screen saver again.

Thank You!!

You're quite welcome, and you can have the windows shade icon back if you
want it. Just right-click on the shortcut, click Properties, then click
the Change Icon button on the Shortcut tab. There are about a dozen
choices. Just select the one you want, then click OK until the Properties
box goes away.
