The section name you specified already exists.

I tried to create a "Miscellaneous" section and I get the specified error
message. The program originally installed with this folder which I
subsequently deleted. It does not appear in any directory so why do I get
this error message? All help appreciated.

do you have a file Miscellaneous.one in the folder you are trying to create
this new section?

I just figured it out. The section was residing in a different directory (My
Documents\My Notebook) versus the default one the program opens to. Not
being familiar with One Note I didn't realize this. Thanks for helping.
