The security settings for PWA are overridden in the project client

Hi,
I set up a user and added it to the "Project Manager" group.

However, I explicitly removed the ability to "View Resource Center", "Build
Team on Project" from PWA. These settings are in effect when the user logs
on to PWA. However, if the user opens the project from the MSProject Client
application, he is able to view the resource center and build the team from
Enterprise options.

Please advise as to how the security settings from PWA can be propagated
back to the client.

Please explain EXACTLY what you did to 'explicitly remove the ability to
"View Resource Center", "Build Team on Project" from PWA.'

If I change these permissions correctly on my system, there is no problem
such as you are having.

Reid,
Thanks for your response! Actually, I unchecked these permission on the
user's profile.

When I logon using the userid to the PWA, I am not able to access "Build
team" functionality etc., which is correct. But if I open the project from
PWA into the Professional client, this option becomes accessible to me via
Tools->Enterprise Options.

Not sure what is going wrong here.

Thanks,
Tabrez

I still cannot figure out what exactly you are doing. You said that the user
can view the PWA Resource Center and also Build Team from the Tools >
Enterprise Options menu. But those functions are not available on the
Enterprise Options menu.

Could you explain in more detail what the user clicks and what they see?

Also, it is not a good practice to set permissions for individual users (in
their "profile" as you put it). Permissions should be set for Groups, and
users should be assigned to groups. The tool will allow you to set
permissions for individuals, and it will work correctly, but it makes
administration very difficult and confusing.
