I've got a user who's machine used to be able to open project files in PWS by
clicking open and it launched project 2003 pro. Now, however, we get this
error message regardless of who's loged on to the machine:

VBScript: Microsoft Office Project Web Access 2003

The selected project(s) could not be opened in Project.

Project cannot be fully opened because it is awaiting your input. Either
continue with the input process until

Project is fully running or quit Project and click Update again.

This works fine on all other machines. I've reinstalled project with no
luck. Any ideas?

I am also getting this error when I try to open some projects.

On some other projects, the error is different as - "You need Microsoft
Project Professional 2002 or Microsoft Project Professional 2003 in order to
perform this action. If you are using either of these versions, verify that a
correct account for this Project Server as been set up and selected by
pointing to Enterprise Options (Tools menu) and then clicking Microsoft
Office Project Server Accounts. If you are unable to start Project with the
correct account, contct your server administrator to make sure that the
enterprice features have been enabled on the Project Server."

I do have Project Professional 2003. I don't know why is it giving this error.

In both cases, I am not able to open the project.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Any luck with this one? I have a user that is receiving this on a particular
project? I've not seen this error before. Sandy

We are having the same problem on our PWA and when opening projects from PWA.
MS Project server worked fine until there were changes in either Active
Directory; IIS or our Proxy Server. Reinstalling MS Project does not help.
I consistently get errors that MS Project is awaiting my input.

Our company has been running MS Project server for years with no problems.
Just recently with a change in either: MS SQL Server; Project Server; Active
Directory, IIS or Proxy Server we are having these same problems.
Reinstalling MS Project on customer client does not work. Our concern is
identifying what changed, how to diagnose and find the cause and correct the
problem.

Check that the url in the Project Server Accounts setting in Project is
identical to the url use to access PWA.

We have found that our Installation of MS Proxy Server is the problem.
Something we have defined in our proxy services causes authentication and
related services to time out, fail or slow down response times.

For selected individuals we have installed a Microsoft Proxy Client, (sorry
I dont know what the name of this object is, the source is Microsoft). This
has corrected all of my Share Point services and MS Explorer provlems. I
have not yet fully tested Microsoft Project Server access. More later.
