The server you entered is not responding.

I recently copied (backup and restore via Enterprise Manager) my
project server database from one server to another. Now I am trying to
setup Project to connect to the newly migrated database and get the
error.

The server you entered is not responding. Check the name is valid and
try again.

I know this error cant be 100% true because it is on the "Enter
database account information" screen, and if I change a user account
or password to a combination that I know is incorrect it will give me a
"The user name and password you enterd is not allowed to logon
......"

This tells me there is at lest basic connectivity.

Any suggestions or tests I can run to at least narrow the issue down.

Thanks in advance,

Let me make sure I'm understanding: you're trying to point an existing installation of project server to a copy of your database (the database names are the same) but the new database is on a different machine from the original installation?

If so I doubt this will work without substantial rework. It will probably be easiest to reinstall the project server software and point it to the new database server during the reinstallation process.

sorry for not being specific, its a new installation of project server,
I already got that issue fixed. Had to delete the SQL users from DB
and recreate the logins, because I did not restore the Master DB.

If your bord you can take a shot at my new issue, when I try to connect
to the project server website I get this. I think ist tied into WSS.

The virtual server that is referenced here is not in the config
database.

Thanks
